-- 2004  in memoriam

After a long illness, our cat Ceasar passed away in the early morning hours of May 4, 2004.  He had suffered from feline leukemia for most of his life, and starting a few months ago had become progressively less mobile.  He stopped eating around May 1 and passed away quietly.

Ceasar moved in to my house with Maggie (pictured below) in the Fall of 2002.  He was the most amiable and approachable of all the cats who have lived here.

Ceasar, as accommodating as he was, never did like baths!

Maggie was bonded very closely to Ceasar and spent many hours with him in his donut after he got sick.

Hard to believe that Ceasar used to be able to jump up onto chairs.  But he used to be all over the house, checking into things and causing trouble.  He especially liked being around when I was working with power tools.  If I was drilling a hole or using a saw he would stick his nose next to the work and get full of sawdust.

Ceasar was a feral cat that Maria trapped in Florida for spay/neuter/release.  However, Ceasar turned out to be so friendly that she took him in and took care of him for the rest of his life.  It's impossible to know how old Ceasar was when he died, but he was at least 5 years old.
